Ok, I don't know how this happened, but at least there is only one of these and it is smaller. This is a sweater that I am making for my daughter. It is in progress. The back is completed and the front will be completed in a couple of days pending knitting time.

Okay, I don't have any idea how I was able to get this picture on here....but this is a hat that I made from Debbie Bliss Cashmerino and a scarf that just happens to go with it. I don't remember what the scarf was made from. Probably some cotton twist and maybe some eyelash. The interesting thing about posting this picture is that it posted 5 of them. Hopefully we are down to one and unfortunately it looks like it is pretty big. I will attempt to fix that also. Well, it looks like I cannot shrink this so will use this space to tell you that this is the model at our local yarn shop. We haven't named her yet, but that will come soon. I will check with Heather and Dev and see what they think her name should be. I took several pictures of many of the items that I made, but I don't want them to take up the entire blog so I may quit while I am ahead with just one. My husband had his second cataract surgery today. All went well. Tomorrow I will take him back to get the patch removed. We are pretty excited since he has gone so many years with glasses and now he will not have to wear them. I got a great gift from my secret pal today. That was really exciting. I was going to take a picture so you could see, but I am not quite that talented as of yet. But a great book, some pretty yarn, I love the bag and a cross stitch. I have never done cross stitch so I think she is introducing me to that. I will have to give it a try, but perhaps I will get a little advice from a friend. Anyway Miss Secret Pal, thank you so very much. I am so excited and pleased.

Hello all. Last weekend I was at my LYS and I found something that my secret pal was looking for. So, I got pretty excited, bought it and then packaged it up to mail on Tuesday. I am also working on a birthday gift for her at this same time. I made something on Saturday, but wasn't totally pleased with the results so have started something else today and hopefully I will be able to mail it on Friday so that it will arrive for her birthday. I have been having so much fun mixing and matching different yarns and colors lately. I am trying to prepare myself for a class and so I am wanting to have a few samples to show. I do have to get back to my felted slippers. They are just sitting on the table waiting to be felted. Now most of you would say what's the hang up. Well, I have a front load washing machine and items do not felt well in front load machines plus you cannot open the door at a whim to pull the project out to look at it. So, I have to go to my Mom's which is not a big deal except that they have their water heater turned down so low. Yes I can turn it up to do my project, but what if I forget to turn it back down again? Yikes!!! That is really why I like to have more than one item to felt at a time. Jennifer (she works for me) has learned to knit also. It is one of the job requirements here. Anyway, maybe Jen and I will have a felting day together. She had like seven items ready to felt and was terrified to felt them. Finally she got brave and now I don't think I can stop her. She is currently working on making a dog sweater for her dalmation. Her name is Princess and she gets cold in the winter time, so this will be very appropriate for her. My dogs have so much hair that if I put a sweater on them they would melt. It is a beautiful day where I live. I am going to say it is in the 80's and just downright pleasant. My office is located on the same property as our home. So, I look out my office window at a beautiful view. Sometimes I feel a little guilty because it is so lovely here. But, not for long. Tomorrow I will be taking my husband to the doctor so that he can have his second cataract surgery. Wow is he excited. He has had to wear contact lenses his entire life from the age of 13 so for the first eye to now be 20-25 vision, he is excited. If the second one turns out that well, I will have one happy camper in my camp. We do live about two hours away from where this procedure will take place, so we will be on the road a bit tomorrow. Then I take him back on Friday to have the patch removed and they will look at it and he will be able to see the results. So, that is pretty exciting for us. I look forward to the time he is in surgery to be knitting. Maybe tonight I will have some energy left and try to post some of my pictures.

Good Morning all. This last week has gone by very quickly it seems. I spent several hours on the road, but I still managed to get some knitting in. I had a cortisone shot in my right elbow on Thursday morning. So, I haven't been able to knit until this morning. I completed a couple of projects this week. I made a hat which was very simple and it feels great. I used Debbie Bliss Cashmerino. I was going to give it to my secret pal, but she is cannot wear garmets that have more than 25% wool. Too bad, because it is so nice and soft. I am tempted to send it anyway. I finished a moebius scarf that will be used for a sample in the class that I am teaching on October 1st. I am started a second one so that I will have two examples at the class. They are fun to make, don't take a great deal of concentration however if you don't do your guage you can wind up with a very big scarf. I would really like to make a cat bed for my cats. I am thinking that my yarn buddy "Buffy" would like it. She does something that I have never seen before. It started with a blanket that I was knitting. I had purchased 12 skeins of yarn. They were in a plastic bag draped over the chair. She managed to get all 12 skeins of yarn out of the bag and brought them to my bedroom during the night. When I got up and saw all of the yarn by my feet it just cracked me up. I have purchased four balls of yarn that are just for her. I put them in her toy box with her toy mice and she brings it all to me in the middle of the night. Last night I forgot to put some alpaca yarn away and she sniffed it out and brought it to me. Fortunately she does not do any damage to the yarn, she just likes to bring it to me. She is what I would call a cool cat! The knitting class today was interesting. It was a cable scarf and I had taken a similar class several months ago, but this one was a little different so it was fun. But it was so funny because there were six ladies there and no one was talking because they were concentrating on the directions. The lady sitting next to me quit breathing I think. She said she was going to have to get a massage after the class. Once she does the repitition a few times I think she will be able to relax.
I was excited because I got the cutest card from my secret pal. One of the other gals in our knitting class tries to figure out who her secret pal is. Since there are around 600 people involved I think it would be very difficult to figure it out, but it will be fun in the end to see who is sending the cards. My SP said that she was getting ready to send something my way so that is pretty exciting. I found a book today that my secret pal has on her wish list. The book is out of print so I bought it and am going to send it to her on Monday. Tomorrow I have to felt those slippers! And maybe take some pictures of some of the projects I have going or have completed.

I am starting to get excited about this Secret Pal event. I wanted to be in the Secret Pal 5, but my knowledge of blogging was not as advanced as it is now and I didn't get everything done in time. So, I started working on this very early so that I would be able to participate in SP6. I had a couple of friends that were in SP5 and they really had fun. So, I expect it will be really interesting and fun to meet new knitters. The last couple of weeks have kind of been a blur. My Aunt and Cousin from St. Louis came to visit for a week and we were out traveling most of the time. We went to the Pacific Ocean and put our feet in it. My Aunt (87) wanted to see the Pacific Ocean once again. It was rather cold, but the sand was nice and warm. We had some great meals and managed to get some shopping in. My Aunt wanted a pair of cowboy boots! We tried several pair on and eventually I ended up buying a pair. I really needed them. Well, not really, but they are kind of pretty and there will be an occasion or two when I will enjoy wearing them. I spent the summer helping to get my parents new house in order. I was the executor of an estate and had the responsibility of getting the house ready to sell and have all of the necessary repair work done to it. My parents bought the house, it is directly across the street from where we live and I am so grateful that they moved here. I am able to keep a close eye on them and they are the greatest so I am enjoying them. If you would have told me at age 20 that I would have enjoyed having my parents live next to me I would have denied this. However when you add a few years on to that 20 many things change.
I finished my first pair of clogs however I have not felted them yet. I need to get them felted so that I can start the next ones. This pair will be for our youngest daughter if they turn out. I made a moebius scarf for my aunt when she was here using some Noro silk. It is nice to work with. I am actually going to teach a class on Moebius knitting on October 1st so have to get a couple of samples made for the class. There are three ladies signed up so far. I am looking forward to a class on a cable scarf. I'm really burned out on scarves but there will be several new stitches in this and so that is why I am doing it. I do like the cable look. I think this is enough for now. I will keep you all posted on my new secret pal!

25. After much thought, I think Thanksgiving would be my favorite. I love the family part the most. The other one would have been Christmas, but I think Thanksgiving would be first as it does not require that you spend great deals of money on gifts. You are just able to enjoy family and friends.

Today is September 11th and I am reminded of the attack on our country. What a sad time that was. I remember as if it were yesterday watching in horror those planes going into the WTC. So, today is a quiet day for me. One to remember all of the people that lost their lives and the families that lost loved ones.
