This is up above Sterling City last Saturday. Lucy and I went out for a little drive. It was absolutely beautiful. I am so glad that we went on Saturday because on Sunday it snowed so hard and we would not have been able to get up here. As it was we just enjoyed the large beautiful snow flakes in Paradise. This local is about 30 minutes from our house. We had to take time away from our knitting needles to make this trip. I had a class at the LYS earlier on Socks. I have been making so many socks with so many different yarns and totally enjoying it. I am hopful to get the picture of the giant sock I made for my hubby on here. I took a picture of it with another sock of normal size just so you could see the difference. I've started a new sweater and am planning on working on the sweater, socks and possible some lace while vactioning in Costa Rica. Lucy and I leave here on Wednesday so spent part of today packing. Jen started her sweater on Monday and by friday she was almost completed with the body so I know that she will be able to get that done this weekend. I am trying to get a pair of socks completed for Lucy's grandmother before we leave. It is terribly hot and humid in Costa Rica now, but her grandmother wears socks to bed, so it will be a nice gift I think. I am meeting Linda (my daughter from Honduras) and son in law Will there and we will be staying with Daisy (Lucy's grandmother). I will be seeing my other daughter Yirley and her family so this is going to be a terrific trip. My hubby is getting along quite well. He is really getting where he can manuver the wheelchair without running into the walls and doors. Hopefully by the time I return he will be walking. Keep your fingers crossed please.

Oh what a lovely secret pal I have! Last night after getting back from the snow outing, I had to go out to the office for something and there was this box sitting at my desk that apparently arrived on Friday when we were gone. So, of course I get excited and then when I opened it up it is just the most adorable lamb and her baby. I will also post a picture of that later today. She is so soft and lovable! And the lavendar anti-bacterial soap. That is great. I have to admit a little leaked out, but no damage was done to the sheep. It was just the oddest thing though because what leaked out was orange in color and the lavendar soap is lavendar. I was given a lavendar candle also and I of course I love it all. Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness. I am thinking it is getting close to the time to reveal yourself Secret Pal. I can't wait to see your blog and learn about you. You have been so nice to me. Thank you again!

Today it is Sunday the 12th of March and it is snowing! Now, keep in mind that I live in the foothills of Northern California and my house is kind of in the banana belt so we get a little excited when it snows here. Yesterday Lucy and I ventured up the road about 10 miles past Sterling City (population 300) and played in the snow. That was after our class at the LYS on knitting socks on two circulars.
The sweater......well, I was going to attempt to take it to my Mom's today and try to work on it a little, but woke up with a sore throat and am thinking I don't want to expose her to anything that I might have so will stay home and knit on socks. I am currently making a pair of socks for Lucy's grandmother Daisy. She will be letting us stay at her house while we are in Costa Rica and I truly wanted to give her a lace scarf, but can't seem to get past the 20th row on that project. So, Lucy told me she wears socks to bed every night and I thought....I can make those in a hurry so I am doing that. Maybe if I don't have the pressure of knowing I have to have the lace done, I will be able to do it! I will be posting some pictures of my accomplishments hopefully later today. You all know what a challenge it is for me to do that.
Meanwhile, our trip to CR has been re-scheduled and we will leave on the 23rd of this month and return on the 6th of April. I will post pictures before I leave. I promise.

It has been such a long time since my last post. So many things going on and kind of hectic but life is leveling off a bit now and I have most everything figured out. My hubby came home from the hospital on the 19th of February. It was a real adjustment getting rugs moved and furniture moved so that the wheelchair could got where it needed to go. I tried to be prepared before he came home and moved some things, but until you actually see how it will all work, you can't totally prepare for it. Today we are going to make the trip back to the doctor and hopefully he will be getting the stitches out of his foot. I think it will be at least one and possible two more weeks before he will be able to walk on it. Actually I think that they will be fitting him with a special shoe so that most of the pressure will be on the heel of his foot. It will be so nice for him to be able to get into the shower. He is not terribly fond of the sponge bath method.
I have been knitting of course during all of this. I got the first sleeve on my sweater and well, I am on Weight Watchers, but I failed to put the sweater on Weight Watchers so it is a bit large. Like a lot large. So, Lucy, my Mom and I are trying to figure out how to adjust it so that I will be able to wear it. I have to take about 5 inches off of the bottom of the sweater and the main issue is the sleeves. So, I will attempt adjustments with the second sleeve and if it works, I will take the other sleeve out and repeat the process. Of course taking out the bottom 5 inches will be an easy thing to do. Maybe I will be able to post a picture of it eventually. In the meantime I have gone crazy with socks. I am really enjoying them.
Last Tuesday we went to the LYS for the regular knitting session and the girls surprised me with a birthday cake and cards etc. It was a nice surprise. As you get older the birthdays seem to come and go so much faster. But, I have this great license plate holder that says "Life is Nifty after Fifty" Jen gave that to me and it is pretty cool.
